Course on Diagnostics of Emerging Neurotropic viruses in Thessaloniki, Greece.

 

 

From 27-29 September 2017, the first EVD-LabNet course was held in Thessaloniki, Greece, hosted by Prof. Anna Papa from the Aristotle University and Dr. Chantal Reusken from Erasmus MC. The course topic was “Diagnostics of Emerging Neurotropic viruses”. The course was attended by 15 participants from reference laboratories in 11 countries. The curriculum addressed basic knowledge on the Central Nervous System, endemic neurotropic viruses and emerging viruses. Various diagnostic methodology were presented and discussed in the context of emerging neurotropic viruses. Case reports presented by course staff and participants resulted in lively discussions and linked theory to daily practices.  More information on the program of the course can be found here.
